Producing 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, it’s the most powerful engine ever factory-installed in a Corvette convertible at the time. Paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, this powerplant launches the car from 0–60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and through the quarter-mile in the low 11s — performance on par with supercars costing twice as much.

The 427 Convertible shares many lightweight components with the track-focused Z06, including a carbon-fiber hood, carbon-fiber fenders, and carbon floor panels, all helping to keep curb weight just over 3,300 pounds.
